Physical Description: With skin an unearthly looking gray, starchildren stand tall and thin. Averaging between 6 n a half to 7 feet in height. Their hands end in four tentacles
about 6 inches long with little suckers. Their faces are rather featureless, like skin stretched tight across the frame.
Society: They tend to wear long robes masking their hands, though this is never questioned much, as they tend to find their ways to the heads of cults. Using their vast knowledge to garner people’s attention and loyalty. Otherwise they are most often found hiding in the depths of the shadows or deep in the forests if they are wise enough to hide themselves from persecution. To those that don’t know they true nature, they seem like cannibals, or just plain savage, with brains being their favorite food. Some will even argue that its how they gain such vast intellect.
Relations: Starchildren very rarely develop good relations with any race. When they do though, its normally with the ratfolk that live in the sewers or their cults, that primarily consist of humans. With the ratfolk its more of a mutual understanding to co-exist in the sewers. While a starchild might be vastly superior to the ratfolk, they can easily be overwhelmed by their greater numbers. Mostly this has just helped to minimize conflict between the two races, as there still seems to be a consistent struggle between them.
Alignment and Religion: Most starchildren are chaotic neutral cause they are not inherently evil. While some of their actions may seem as much, with heavy consideration on their eating habits, its just their survival mechanism. There are a few that find pleasure in their acts so evil is not too uncommon. This could be heavily rooted in who, or rather, what they follow. They worship the dark void of space in which they believe they have come from, though this gives power to the forms that created them. Thus, unknowingly, their shrines and paints they hold dear are actual re-creations of they creatures that gave birth to them.
Adventurers: The few that seek the world and universe at large are normally oracles, or witches. This is cause the powers that they “have,” have been giving by something unbeknownst to them. Though their vast knowledge also will lead them down the path of the wizard or magus.
Jotkin Racial Traits
+2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, +2 Intelligence. -4 Wisdom: Starchildren are physically sound and vastly intelligent but the void of space has eaten much of their common sense.
Aberration: Starchildren are Aberrations.
Darkvision: Starchildren have darkvision 60’.
Lesser Spell-Resistance:Members of this race gain spell resistance equal to 6 + their character level
Aura of the Void: Starchildren unnerve normal animals, and train to defend themselves against the inevitable attacks from such creatures. Members of this race take a –4 penalty on all Charisma-based skill checks to affect creatures of the animal type, and receive a +4 dodge bonus to AC against animals. Animals’ starting attitude toward members of this race is one step worse than normal.
Star-Touched Skin: Starchildren gain DR 5/silver.
Negative Energy Affinity: Weakness: A member of this race is alive, but reacts to positive and negative energy as if it were undead—positive energy harms it, while negative energy heals it.
Resurrection Vulnerability: A raise dead spell cast on a member of this race can destroy it (Will negates). Using the spell in this way does not require a material component.
Languages: Starchildren begin play speaking Aklo. Starchildren with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Abyssal, Infernal, Draconic, and Aquan.
